Nestled near the Straits of Mackinac, Mackinac Island is a popular summer tourist spot with a state park, where you can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, watch freighters glide by and fill up on classic fudge.

If you're looking to stay year-round, you may find some affordable housing near the center of the island where many of the roughly 500 year-round residents live, but vacation properties with Straits views typically command big prices.

A serene, lakefront view from the home of your dreams awaits on the island, but it almost certainly comes with a hefty price tag approaching or over $1 million.

Realtors in Michigan currently have multiple homes listed for sale on Mackinac Island, several nearby along the lakefront. The most expensive among them is priced at more than $3 million, but several others are for sale at more than $1 million. Don't wait too long to snap up those top-end homes, some already have sales in the works despite the price.

The yard is filled with vibrant green shrubbery, flowering plants, trees and a patio, overlooking a lakefront view.

Indoors, the home includes five bedrooms and three bathrooms, fully furnished with designer pieces. The home was expanded in 2017, providing a combination of historic and modern style.

Realtor.com says the home offers sweeping views of the Mackinac Bridge.
